Atlanta Market Story – Day 5

Yay! Last day! We had a great time and very productive trip but it is ALWAYS good to get home, right?!

Today was a half day for us but we packed a lot in before we left mid-day. We browsed several of the temporary booths, ordered lots of new greeting cards from Caspari and checked out of lots of Floral/Holiday showrooms! Hard to even think about Christmas right now honestly! 🙂

So many neat displays to see though throughout AmericasMart! Great for inspiration!! I fell in love with this display in the Knud Nielson showroom. Magnolia wreaths and garland with dried hydrangeas and cotton – doesn’t get any more Southern than that! LOVE!

After more browsing and more buying and forgetting to take pics,  we wrapped things up and grabbed lunch before we hit the road! We really are excited about everything we found and can’t wait to show it all to you! Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram and we will post pics as the items arrive!

Thank you friends! xoxo

Atlanta Market Story – Day 4

Hello again! Thanks so much for following along. We hope you are enjoying our daily posts! We hit the ground running once again and ordered many great products from a few new vendors and of course vendors we have worked with before such as Tile Craft, Savannah Bee Company, Nora Fleming and Garden Route.

We’ve noticed that in each of our daily photos we look a lot more tired with each passing day! 🙂 We are having a great time and thankful for the opportunity but hey, it is hard work and long days! We want to make sure we are finding what YOU, our customers want and will buy! If our customers are happy then it is worth it!

We are VERY excited about some new products we will be bringing in and we are thankful for our friend Nicole Storey for telling us about these companies. First off, Simply Whimsical! Take a look at the cutest pineapple aprons in the photo above that we will have coming in soon! Also, we just LOVE the girls at Headbands of Hope and are very excited about the  headbands we are bringing to Winston’s! For every headband we buy, one is given to a child with cancer to a hospital of our choice! Isn’t that wonderful?! The headbands are just beautiful and we have ordered a great selection!

We browsed so many showrooms this afternoon and ended up at Caspari and ordered quite a few beautiful cocktail/beverage napkins, guest towels and plates. Excited for you to see the beautiful selection they have!

Well, tomorrow is our last day! So we are resting up to make the most of our time while we are here! We are pretty excited about what we have accomplished in our time here and we are ready to get back to the shop and await the shipments!!

Atlanta Market Story – Day 3

Thursday started with an early breakfast again followed by the first shuttle to AmericasMart! So awesome to be able to just ride a bus and not worry about the Atlanta traffic!

We browsed a few showrooms first including Dept. 56, Grasslands, Elise, Park Hill, Creative Co-op, DHR & Stony Creek and Kurt Adler. Then for the rest of the day we had decided we would divide and conquer! So, Janie headed to the Temporaries and I (Jennifer) went to to the 1st of 6 WORK//SHOP seminars put on by Linley+Lauren. First up was “Shop Talk” where they told us about the top trends to look for at Market. After that we met up to have lunch from the Market Club.

After lunch we went our separate ways again. Janie stopped by Eat your Peas booth, The Grandparent Company and Porcelain Garden and checked out many other new  potential vendors! I spent the rest of the afternoon attending the remaining seminars which included topics such as Facebook, Instagram, Marketing while at the Market, Tips to help style, shoot and share photos from your phone and last but not least an at-market social media plan! I am so excited about the free gifts I received at each seminar – travel mug, iphone cover, selfie stick, sunglasses, phone battery booster & a shatterproof wine glass! Work hard, Shop hard!! In between seminars I also browsed a couple showrooms – Sullivan’s and Accent Decor (LOVE their vases and containers).

So after the seminars Janie and I met up again in the Enesco showroom. Jim Shore was there and signing ornaments for everyone! Great way to end the day! Oh and we were able to get two of the last 3 seats on the shuttle bus back to our hotel!! Yay!! We were so relieved we didn’t have to wait for the next bus that didn’t come for another 30 minutes! 🙂

Atlanta Market Day 2 Recap!

We grabbed an early breakfast at the hotel and made it on the 7:30am shuttle to AmericasMart. We spent close to 11 hours there and were able visit 17 vendors! Whoa!! We are exhausted and our heads are spinning a bit! The crowds seemed to have picked up a lot, especially with it only being Wednesday! It will really be busy the rest of the week and through the weekend.

We hit the ground running and started off in the IMAX showroom. Oh my, we were drooling over everything in there and wanted it all! Then went to Gerson and The Royal Standard where we got a picture with our great sales rep Heidi to send to sweet Nontie (who usually helps us but is currently having some health issues) to let her know we are in good hands. The Royal Standard is one of our favorite vendors. We founds lots of cute items there! Next up we visited C&F Enterprises, Roman, Two’s Company, Evergreen (excited about the big order we placed there), and then our last stop before lunch was at the Melissa & Doug showroom. Found several great new items for the kiddos that we are excited to bring to Winston’s. Sometime during the morning we also stopped by to say hello to our friend Kim Freeman , she works for Diverse Marketing and we just love her!

After our delicious lunch at Market Club, we took off again and stopped at Collins first. Oh my, we are SO excited about the cute signs and ornaments we got here!  Next up was Bearington Bears , Mariposa, Magnolia Lane, Habersham candles and Occasionally Made, Crabtree & Evelyn, Karen Adams Designs, Stonewall Kitchen & Good Food Services!

We did some browsing and a LOT of buying! It was a busy afternoon and I (Jennifer) didn’t spill any coffee! But that was because we couldn’t find anybody serving any! 🙂 However, I did trip while trying to get into the hotel shuttle van and sort of “fell” into my seat. Oh boy, never a dull moment!  Well, we have another busy day lined up tomorrow so we better get our rest!

Atlanta Market Day 1 Recap

We hit the road at 6am ready for a big week of finding new gift and home decor items for Winston’s Gift Shop! There was quite a bit of traffic that delayed us some but we managed to get to our hotel to drop off the car, just in time for the 10am shuttle to AmericasMart. We were pre-registered so checking in and getting our badges was a breeze once we got there!

We spent the day in Building 2 and started in the Demdaco showroom. We found so many neat items here! Adorable children’s pillowcases, Embellish your story magnets & frames, Lighted galvanized metal frames, Art Hearts, super sweet coasters and tea towels and so much more! We were in this showroom probably 2 hours! 🙂

Next stop was Market Club for lunch before our 1pm appointment with Coton Colors where we ordered new glass ornaments shipping this summer! Love the tervis tumbler they gave us!

Next on the agenda was our appointment with Mud Pie! They have recently moved to a new showroom and increased their space to 11,000 square feet! WOW! We found lots of cute items here too including lake themed decor, bride and bridesmaid tote bags and so much more! Can’t wait to show you!

Last stop of the day was with C.R. Gibson where we found super cute notepads, recipe cards and thank you notes! Oh and (I) Jennifer did accidentally spill my afternoon coffee on one of the displays! Oh dear – Clean up on aisle 7!  I think that meant it was time to call it a day! We caught the shuttle back to the hotel and now we are resting up and recharging for day 2!

It’s hard to believe it has almost been a week since our drop-in! Wow, what a fantastic crowd we had!
